BENUE STATE: NEW HOME OF KIDNAPPERS!

Benue State is now the new home of kidnappers were by almost every year not less than 3-4 cases of kidnap is experienced especially in the North Eastern part of the State were many believed is the home of Arsenals. Going by the recent development of business of kidnapping, most of the arm robbers have left every other robbery business and have gone into the business of kidnapping which is believed to be faster and less tasking in terms of public notice.  The coming of the new gov of Benue State Dr. Samuel Ortom in power on the 29 May, 2015 was speculated to be a divine will of God design to put to rest the long injustices melted on the good and peaceful people of Benue State by men of the under world. Since the resumption of office the governor has been on the neck of insecurity this was the reason why he gave 90 days to arms owners, who between this stipulated time will agreed to hand over the arms in their position will attract reasonable fees at every stage of standard of guns in their position. Since 1999, there have been many cases of innocent killings that no truth of their deaths have been given but just lately the level of crimes which have sprang up in the North East Benue is a thing to ask questions, who are behind this arms, who have knowledge of this men, were do they stay or how do they operates this are few of many questions which need urgent answers one good thing is that all of this men are known by members of their communities who because of fear of the unknown do not want to ever exposed them. The business of curtailing insecurity in any community is not the business or task of government alone this task requires collective efforts from members of the public who are expected from time to time to give out classified information which in most cases are treated confidential leading to the arrest of any strange act or behavior by persons, groups, gang or band of unknown or familiar persons who in one form or another torments the peace of their people. The recent kidnapping of an 85 year old man from Vande-Ikya local government area of Benue State by gang of three men demanding the sum of 20 Million naira for his freedom in other to release him, the 85 years old man is the father of a Makurdi based business mugu by name Kyabiz the owner of Kyabiz oil and hotel businesses was one of many such incidences in Benue State. The governor Ortom led government must ensure total compliance of law and order in other to allow peace to reign once more so that with the posting of a new commissioner of police in the State there will be a great turn around in Benue as a whole.
