Benue State: the wind of change!

Since 1999 democracy has been carefully treated as a successful process due to constant and uninterrupted process going from one stage to another for 16 years till date. It will be recalled that in 2015, after PDP had rule the entire country for sixteen years there came a wind which blew from the forces of uncontrolled hands of the general pubic saying enough is enough and all we saw in Nigeria this time was the wind sweeping everything worth sweeping. In Benue State Dr. Samuel Ortom was the man who every one believed with his verse knowledge in public service he will be the one to understand his people haven't served them in different capacities in the State and at the national level. Just less than 100 days in office Dr Ortom was saddled with the first task which was the issues of pending salaries by the past administration led by Hon Torwua Suswam of PDP.  Benue State is predominantly civil service State nothing happened in this State on till workers are paid salaries this was one major reason why the government of PDP was rejected by the least person in Benue leading to the take over of government by the APC led by Gov. Ortom. It is good to know that if workers are not paid for a long period workers must find the only alternative to survive and going by this they must borrow from any available source to survive the worry now remains that, the one month salary paid by the Benue State Gov Dr. Samule Ortom is not in the interest of the workers even though the Gov may have inherited an empty treasury from the past government with huge dept but the yeaning of the people was the reason the House of Assembly gave him the free hand to borrow NI0 billion naira to enable him clear all out standing salaries this i believed was in the good of the workers. Now that only one month is paid i feel so so sorry to all the workers and want to use this medium to tell them to be patient with the new governor who in no time may ensure all salaries are paid he has said this before he may  possibly pay all standing salaries after ghost workers will be shown the way out. Gov. Samuel Ortom should use his office to see that workers in his State do not continue to go out to work without constant salaries we understand that the wind of change is indeed the wind of destiny.
