WHICH HOPE; NIGERIA!

Looking at Nigeria Democratic theater and the nature of political actors it is not difficult to predict doom in the Nigeria Democratic system. I asked which hope for Nigeria and the answer that comes to mind each time is doom. Democracy strives on good leadership and quality representative. After looking at Nigeria democratically, it is easy to understand one major factor in the democratic system which is leadership skills. Any country or Nation's leader whose thirst is only centered at self seeking, will not do well for his or her people. In Nigeria our leaders lack the key thing in leadership, which is skills. Leadership skills is the ability to rule well or lead your people without bias , a selfless service to your country. In Nigeria politicians are the worst crop of people who most times feigned during campaigns to make people believe they have the ability to lead and during campaigns they make empty promises only to be given such offices. No politician in Nigeria has Nigerians at heart all they do is to embezzle public funds when given the opportunity to occupy any public office and when this is done, non of them ever remember the oath of office which they sworn allegiance to. When a leader lacks leadership skills he or she can sail the people into an unending problems that would have Been handled by a good leader. It is even laughable to say Nigeria is democratically independent when workers in Nigeria can not survive on three square meals. It is on record that Nigeria  democracy is shame when elections are made to be blood bath and violence in nature a situation were politician survive the storm leaving the innocent to die in the field. Which hope Nigeria when a cup of Gari is #50 Naira against #20, a cup of red oil is #200 against #50 and the bottle is #1000 against #400, sachet water now is #15 and #20 Naira depending the area. Bag of rice now goes for between #18,000 and #22,000 Naira for 50kg while matches box goes for #15 Naira against #5 Naira. All soup ingredients for #20 Naira now goes for between #70 and #100 Naira depending on the area and market. In the face of this hopeless situation salaries negotiations for workers have failed several times and politicians will always have their pay all front. It is very sympathetic to note that our Unions (NLC/TUC, JOHESU) leaders have been sidelined in a kangaroo attitude were government will always call for meetings to buy time by setting up Committees and Sub Committees without any head way. If Nigeria must survive let every man or woman intending to be a leader some day pass through necessary leadership training to expose them to positive ideas and new innovations. This certificate should be made compulsory on screening and be set as one necessary certificate while canvassing to be leader in Nigeria.
