NIGERIA; MILITANCY IS MADNESS!
Nigeria is the giant of African with a population of over 180 Million people as confirmed. The country is majorly dependant on crude oil and has been sustaining her self from this resource since the discovery. Nigeria was known for her aggressive and commitment in the agriculture. Nigeria known to be farmers after the discovery of oil left farms to sustained her self from oil boom and the resource has been indeed doing great for the country if not for personal individuals who embezzled Nigeria and denied her of any development and peace. In every gold mine lies a danger and as Nigeria rest on liquid gold it is obvious Nigeria will from time to time encounter some crisis. Today, the people in the Niger Delta who owns the area were oil is produced seems to be losing hope. It is on records how many time this region has taken arms against Nigeria government to demand for a fare share. This they said the land which is the hub of economy has been long neglected and that the region have been side line from development therefore leaving the people to die in their poor state. It is good to note that, all the past and present leaders in Niger Delta region have always come on seat with a motive of sharing their wealth on the round table with most of the influential and powerful group leaders and community heads. This no doubt has kept the home of the house that own Nigeria's wealth and the economic pillar which has been sustaining the country since the late 50s during oil boom in the Niger Delta region. The pain we are now passing through at the moment is the fact that, all those who ruled Nigeria were men with self seeking motives who believed that, amassing themselves with wealth while in power is the only thing a leader can do, and this in many ways has gone a long way to cripple Nigeria from the face of the current economy therefore exposing the citizens to hunger and dearth. In Niger Delta every young and old depend on this oil not minding how to get what they want most of them have device means by breaking pipelines and hijacking oil vessels as a way of making quick money. Today the region has gone into militancy madness by using their own hands to destroy what has been put in place over years. What this means is that, the effect of this militancy madness may not show up now but will surely creep into every home in the Niger Delta sometime in the near feature. Nigeria is blessed with oil but this oil has been turned to blood bath for persona gains or thirst for wealth by some few but powerful in the society. If at this level the Niger Delta still fight for their right using arms to attack themselves feeling or thinking they are doing this to the rest of Nigeria they are not nursing a true united Nigeria were it was believed money meant from groundnut oil from the North was part of financing the oil boom in the Delta region. The level of destruction and killings in the Niger Delta region is unquantifiable. The region has been exposed to every day attacks on their own people by their own hands and the land has been endangered by hosting many blood thirsty militants whose intention is not for the good of the Niger Delta people but to put money in their pockets. It is wise to know that, for Nigeria to live as one they must first unite as brothers and sisters for the good of the people and for peace to reign.
