With the ongoing suspension exercise going round Ministries, Departments and Agencies by the new Governor of Benue State Rev. Father Hyacinth Iormem Alia, the Chief Medical Director of Benue State University Teaching Hospital Prof. Terrumun Swende was not spare. The directive which requires all Heads to hand over to the most senior Staff in such Ministry, Department or Agency, Prof. Terrumun Swende handed over to Dr. Terlumun Igbudu who was next to him and was the Chairman Medical Advisory Committee (CMAC) unfortunately, the CMAC who took over as the Acting CMD had less than two (2) weeks to the expiration of his first tenure in Office as CMAC. Going by such structure, the Leadership baton fell on the next Senior Staff who was the Deputy Chairman Medical Advisory Committee (D-CMAC) Dr. Michael Maanongon. Yesterday been 14/6/2023 Dr Maanongon was saddled with the responsibility as the Acting Chief Medical Director (CMD) of our prestigious Institution. Dr. Maanongon is a thorough breed Consultant Ggynaecology well known in the Facility and have been in touch with many realities. His closeness with many Staff across the Hospital has earned him so much respect by all Staff of the Community from both clinical and non-clinical. Dr. Maanongon was the D-CMAC and is well equipped with all the managerial experience to succeed. Today, Dr. Maanongon did what no Chief Medical Director has ever done in the Facility. The Man bounced into the ongoing General Congress of JOHESU BSUTH Branch and the whole place went agog. With humility, the man spoke to the Congress and asked for little time to allow him settle down and if time permits him, Staff Welfare will receive full attention but in summary, Dr. Maanongon is very familiar with the entire system and as someone who is part of the Community, knows the problems facing the Institution through his capacity as the D-CMAC. Dr. Maanongon while addressing the Congress promised to hit the ground running without delay and the entire Congress was filled with jubilation and joy. Looking at the humility of the Acting CMD and the timing of Rev. Father Hyacinth Iormem Alia in Office, the entire Congress in good faith suspended the 15 Days warning Strike to pave way for further negotiations. This is wishing Dr. Michael Maanongon God's strength and wisdom to enable him take BSUTH to the next level where light amd water will be constant and other general services of the Hospital will improve.
