State Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress(APC) today interacted with the Executive Governor of Benue State, His Excellency, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia at the Government House, Makurdi.
The delegation was led by the state chairman of the party, Comr. Austine Agada. The chairman in an opening remark Congratulated Governor Alia on the successful takeoff of his administration which he said carries a lot of hope for the people of the state.
He extolled the leadership qualities of the governor and stated that the leadership of the Party in the State has been praying for the success of his administration and sued for unity of purpose among party leaders to achieve greater success.
The governor while welcoming the party executives appreciated their visit and prayers. He solicited the support of the party and all stakeholders in the state to enable him succeed and commended the APC leadership for standing by him during the 2023 elections which was won landslide.
The governor promised to work hard to cement his relationship with the party, promising that APC remains a united family and can not be divided. He told the party delegation that those who are bent on causing disaffection in the APC do not mean well for the party and the State.
The Governor informed the state officials of his harmonious relationship with the Leader of the APC in the State and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen. Dr George Akume CON, describing the former governor as the most easy going, accommodating and humble leader in Benue State who has always made himself available to the people.
The governor who promised a robust reward system for party supporters in the state also sued for their continued support and prayers for Benue State which he said he is rebuilding from ground zero.
In a vote of thanks, APC State Deputy Chairman, Rt. Hon Steven Tsav commended Gov. Alia for interfacing with the leadership of the party adding that he was very happy for the opportunity the governor has provided for the cross-pollination of ideas and the improved synergy between the governor and the leadership of the party.
Tsav also thanked the governor for hitting the ground running on his policy and programs for the state.
The delegation from APC Benue State had representation from the State Working Committee, Non-Working Committee and Chairmen of the APC at the Local Government level.
