The All Progressives Congress, (APC) Benue State Chapter Special Leaders (Persons With Disabilities), today held a state executive council meeting at the State Secretariat of the party in Makurdi.
In his welcome address, the State Special Leader of PWDs, Hon. Titus Ageba welcomed all the local government Special Leaders present and further appreciated APC as a party, the leader of the party and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen. Dr. George Akume CON, Governor of the state, HE. Rev. Fr. Dr Hyacinth Iormem Alia, State Chairman of the party, Comr. Austin Agada for providing the opportunity and necessary environment for the disability community to operate in the state and as well as for making it possible for the meeting to take place.
The executive council of the PWDS in its meeting discussed three key issues bothering their welfare as a community which include:
1. Office of the State Special Leader: That, the APC state Special leader, Hon. Titus Ageba should write to the state Chairman of the party to inform him about the plight of PWDs and suggest the right course of action.
2. That the Special leaders of party in the 23 local government areas of the State should have an interface with the state party Chairman and Governor of the State in order to present their demands for the welfare of the disability community in the state.
3. On data collection, they resolved that the State Special Leader, Hon. Titus Ageba should design a form and send it to local government leaders for enumeration of PWDs, and that the registration should start with APC members and then, be extended to other political parties who wish to be also captured.
The representative of Hon. Audu Lazarus Loho who is the APC Zonal Special Leader of North Central, Hon. Charles Terzungwe Aende also charged the Special Leaders to be focused and be determined amid their challenges. He extolled the support of the Leader of the party in the State, and the State's Governor, for their support to the PWDs.
The APC PWDs Community in the state pledged their support and loyalty to the party and Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia's administration and prayed
for the success of his administration.
