Born on 1st August, 1962,into the humble family of Iorapuu Ibya in Aliade, Mbalav, Gwer- East Local Government Area of Benue state .

He has an educational career spaninng 30 years before becoming the Vice Chancellor of Benue State University, Makurdi .

As a Social Theater and Transformative Change Professor of 12 years standing , Joseph Tor Iorapuu, is focused , socially- conscious , and development -minded academic with over 50 publications to his credit that includes peer- reviews journal publications , creative books, chapters in books , published monographs and book reviews .

He has also edited several journals and books .

A Widely travelled academician , Professor Tor Iorapuu has made fruitful contributions in several local and international conference across the globe .

As a lover of youths , Professor Tor Iorapuu, has enthusiastically mentored and supported countless young people to actualize their life dreams.

A visionary , result - oriented academic and administrator, Professor Tor Iorapuu is a man with uncommon passion for development and impact where ever he finds himself .

Transformation of BSU under Professor Tor Iorapuu

1, Ensure upgrading , renovation, expansion and provision of critical infrastructural facilities to enhance learning ,teaching and research commensurate with new global models .

2,Improve security architecture of the University to protect and secure lives and property as well as making cultism history in the University.

3,Institute an improved reward system of innovation and excellence for staff and students to boast morale ,recongnition and progression in the University.

This is just but few, beside the is a robust policy where students result are promptly release .

Professor Tor Iorapuu believed that if a student sat for examination, he should know his result,and how he has fared .
