BENUE DEPUTY GOV CONSOLES FAMILY OF LATE MRS. IGBETAR, SAYS KILLERS MUST FACE JUSTICE

Benue Deputy Governor His Excellency, Barr. Dr. Sam Ode, mni, on Saturday paid a condolence visit to the family of the slain jurist, late Justice Margaret Igbetar, a retired judge and former president of the Benue State Customary Court of Appeal whose decomposing body was Thursday, discovered at her private residence in Makurdi, the Benue State capital. 

The Deputy Governor who described as unfortunate the violent circumstances that led to her death said the "perpetrators of the heinous crime must surely face the full wrath of the law". 

Barr. Sam Ode enjoined the deceased family to take solace in the words of Apostle Paul that says "to live is Christ, to die is gain", saying Mrs. Igbetar who lived an accomplished and fulfilled life was a worthy asset to the judiciary, Benue State and indeed, Nigeria.  

He also assured that the Police and other security agencies have already swung into action to ensure that those behind the barbaric act are apprehended and prosecuted.
