Shitile stakeholders in Katsina-Ala LGA on Tuesday August 1, 2023 zoned the forthcoming caretaker chairmanship of the council to Mbayongo Ward of Gaambe-Ya.
The decision was unanimously taken during a stakeholders meeting held in the Shitile Traditional Council Hall, Tor Donga.
It was also agreed that the slot of the elected chairmanship should go to Yooyo Ward in Kpav. The zoning, the stakeholders noted, is in conformity to their political power sharing formula.
The Shitile APC meeting on Tuesday follows the State APC Extraordinary Stakeholders Meeting held at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Makurdi on July 21, 2023, where it was directed that stakeholders at the local government areas should nominate candidates that would be appointed caretaker chairmen.
Critical stakeholders at the meeting included: Benue State House of Assembly member representing Shitile (Katsina Ala East) Constituency Rt. Hon. Jonathan Agbidyeh, Zonal Women Leader Nguyan Washima, former LG chairman Hon. Augustine Avaan and former APC chairman Mr. Joseph Awuah.
Other stakeholders included Hon. Denen Azege, Chief Fanen Ihyongo, Hon. Ahar Shom, Hon. Msughve Ayua, Hon. Tersoo Washima, Hon. Doobee Akiiga, Hon. Liba Chia, Samuel Gadin and Liambee Nyitar.
Also at the meeting were: Local Government Deputy Chairman of APC Tersugh Kobo, the Secretary Samuel Gbise and all Ward chairmen and Exco members of the ruling party.
