The Apc Jemgbagh Youth Forum under the leadership of Hon.Gyungu Samuel Tersoo (GST) woke up to yet another malicious press release from a faceless envious individuals claiming to be acting on behalf of ZONE A PEOPLE'S ASSEMBLY calling on the Tor Tiv to call Sen.George Akume,the secretary to the government of the Federation over allege favouritism of JEMGBAGH clan over other intermediaries in Tiv land.
Ordinarily, we would not have bothered to issue a disclaimer over such a baseless allegation owning to the fact that the purported press release emanating from the good people of Zone A is not sign by any leadership and we view it as a disrespect to the Tor Tiv stool were if at all such exist, appropriate channel should have been used to inform the paramount ruler rather than resulting to social media to draw his attention which has no basis in the Tiv norms and values .
However, for the sake of informing members of the public on the workings of government, we are circumstancially forced to clear the misconception put forward by the faceless group.
We wish to remind this faceless group of individuals that Sen.George Akume is not a sectional leader as he has lobby appointments for BENUE Sons and daughters across ethnic divides.
Is worrisome how this faceless group has forgotten the appointment of Dr.Stephen Tsav from Minda as member, representing north central at North East Development Commission.
It is also a public show of shame for the faceless group to allege that the people of Lobi were robbed of the position of medical director, federal medical center makurdi.
The methodology for appointing an MD as stipulated in the scheme of service allow that any of the first three can be selected for the position.
We challenge this faceless group to prove if other medical directors appointed for other medical centers came first in the interview and the case of FMC makurdi is different.
It is clear that the pseudo group is sponsored to beat the drums of war between the good people of Minda and JEMGBAGH.
It is important to state that appointment head of tertiary institution can only be done by the governing council of such an institution which Sen.George Akume is not a member.
If for any reason Dr.Tyover Dajo is qualified to occupy such position, it will amount to injustice to be denied such on ground of his family ties with Sen.George Akume as he is entitled to his fundamental right to occupy any public office.
We wish to remind this envious group that one can only be favoured for such position when he is qualified. On claim to plot and remove Jime Emmanuel from office, we wish to remind this group that the appointment of Emmanuel Jime is solely at the discretion of the president and not the SGF, and the president may choose to keep him or relieve him at the expiration of his tenure.
It is a fact that Sen.GeorgevAkume believes in God as the giver of power and may not turn to destabilize the government of Fr.Alia even if the speaker emerge against his interest and sentiment.
We wish to state the the relationship between the two is cordial and are both working in the interest of the state.
We wish to state that is time we stop dancing naked before the world on account of politics. Sen.George Akume is an emerging world leader who need our support and prayers.
