ASSEMBLY CALLS ON BENUE STATE GOVERNMENT TO HONOR GBERINDYER AND OTHERS


The Benue State House of Assembly today 21st September 2023 at plenary called on the state government to Honor the chief superintendent of Police CSP. Dr. Justine Gbrindyer who is counting days to his retirement from the Nigerian Police Force.

In a motion moved by the Majority leader, Honorable Saater Tiseer has it that the commander of Operation Zenda JTF CSP. Gberindyer has performed excellently well in fighting crime in Benue state and bringing it to the bearest level in the state.

Members took their turn to lend their voices in support of the motion calling on the Benue state government not just to honor CSP. Gberindyer alone but finds a way to engage him after he retires from the Nigerian police to the advantage of the state.

The same motion moved by the Honorable majority leader also called upon the state Government to Honor Miss Blessing Mnguember Nev and her sister, Miss Nguseer Nev for participating in and winning the national Swange dance Competitions organized by the national Troupe in December 2019.

The House resolves that the commander of Operation Zenda JTF, Chief Superintendent of Police CSP. Dr. Justine Gberindyer, Miss Blessing Mnguember Nev, and Mercy Nguseer Nev should appear on the floor of the house on Tuesday 26th Sept. 2023 by 10 a.m.

In another development, the member Representing the Tarka state constituency, Honorable Manger Manger moved a motion calling on the Assembly to draw the attention of the National Assembly Caucus of the Benue state Origin and the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission NBC to the Derogatory comments on the Tiv Ethnic group by one miss venita Akpofure on Big brother Naija TV reality show.

The House resolves among other measures that Miss Venita Akpofure should publicly apologize and withdraw her statement against the Tiv ethnic nationality in two widely read National dailies within seven days.

The House also agreed to petition Miss Venita Akpofure to the inspector General of police for her to be arrested and made to face the repercussions of her comments against the Tiv nation.
