HON TIZA INSPECTS FACILITIES AT THE BENUE STATE UNIVERSITY TEACHING HOSPITAL.

In another significant development towards achieving Governor Alia's workable plans for the state, Commissioner for Works and Housing, Hon Imojime Isaac Orya Tiza carried out a thorough inspection on the Benue State University Teaching Hospital BSUTH.

The commissioner was honorably received by the hospital's new Medical Director, Dr. Steven Hwande. The MD appreciated the commissioner's visit noting it was timely. He stressed that the success of the governor is a success to all who worked under him and therefore the appraisals will be determined by their performances in their various offices.

Dr. Hwande who referred to the hospital as been a complete decay as it lacked status quo, outlined some of the problems confronting the hospital to include; encroachment, lack of weighing machines, stretchers, zero standby generator, infrastructural decays, poor water supply and it need for water works among others challenges.

Hon Imojime explore the avenue to once again congratulate Dr Hwande noting that his appointment was well deserved. He described Hwande's appointment as how well the governor wants the state to grow, emphasizing that the hospital will finally be revitalized under Hwande's leadership.

Briefing the press, Hon Tiza described the structures as beautiful though abandoned to its decay over the years. He equated the building infrastructures to Aper Aku's standard, saying it was one of the best.

The commissioner appreciated the structural integrity of the buildings, however he noted the need for an enhanced aesthetic and some finishings. He reiterated the governor's presence and his intentions to make sure everything works perfectly. He assured that in collaboration with other ministries, work will commence immediately on areas that needs urgent attention such as water supply while facilities that pose grave danger will be brought down.

In the words of Dr Hwande "Gov Alia's desire is to improve health care and make sure Benue people has the best health care in Nigeria and that is why I am appointed, so I am on a savage mission as directed by the governor ". The management is ensuring that all critical stakeholders are involved in this mission, he added.

The commissioner was conducted round the facility by Dr Hwande in company of Director of Works and Maintenance BSUTH, Director General of International Cooperation and Development, Director of Quantity and Survey-Ministry of Housing another other staff.
