Infrastructure is the foundation and the bedrock of any meaningful development. Be it economic or social development. Roads for instance are critical to human and material movement, they provide access to points that are otherwise hidden, they also add value to properties (lands and buildings) within such environments that they are constructed, they boost the social life and interactions of towns cities and rural areas.
Building Structures on the other hand provide aesthetics, beautify the towns and make readily available facilities needed for social and official gatherings, but above all, (and many people don't know this) infrastructural development sends out invitation to serious minded investors that a place is ready for business. It is one of the things investors look out for.
That's why one may be willing to invest in Kano or Lagos for instance but not Benue. Truth is Benue in the past years has been looking like a village within a town. Honestly, and for those who have travelled, you will notice a significant difference between Makurdi for instance and many other state capitals including Nasarawa state which was recently carved out of Benue and Plateau states.
The governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia led administration is bent on amongst other things, giving Benue state, the much and long awaited facelift it deserves.
