BENUE STATE GOVERNOR REV. FATHER HYACINTH ALIA FLAGOFF THE DISTRIBUTION OF FOOD ITEMS AND OTHER MATERIALS TO IDPs

Earlier today, at the flag-off of the distribution of food and non-food items to our beloved IDPs in Benue State by the Benue State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA).

We are deeply committed to the welfare and well-being of every single citizen of our dear state. Our collective strength lies not only in the walls of power but also in the empathy and care we extend to those in need.

The situation faced by our IDPs is not one we take lightly. They have endured unimaginable hardships, and it is our duty, as a responsible and compassionate government, to alleviate their suffering and provide them with the support they need to rebuild their lives.

Today, we take the first step in addressing their challenges. This distribution of food items is a demonstration of our unwavering commitment to the cause of bringing relief and comfort to our brothers and sisters in distress. But let us remember that this is just the beginning. Our journey to bring them back to their respective communities safely is one that requires concerted efforts, unity, and determination.

As we work out the modalities for their safe return, we must also address the root causes of displacement. We will strengthen security measures to ensure that their communities are safe havens where they can rebuild their lives without fear. We will invest in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and employment opportunities to create an environment that nurtures growth and prosperity.

I thank the Benue State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) for their tireless efforts, and I urge them to coordinate the distribution with the fear of God. I thank every individual, every organisation, and every volunteer who has selflessly contributed to this noble cause
