ECOWAS gave the Military Junta one week to restore power back to President Mohamed Bazoum as the legitimate President of Niger Republic or face measures that might involve the use of forces and the Congress mandates all ECOWAS Chiefs of Defence Staff to meet immediately to chat a way forward.

With this Strick measures taken by ECOWAS, most African countries may consider making laws that will completely place a ban or abolishe every action by the Military to takeover power and distort the process of democracy across the continent. This move again will send signals to others who may be planning on have the evil intention to do same.

With the reality on ground, it is very clear if this actions taken by ECOWAS succeeds, this may be the end to any Military rule and Niger may be the last. Going forward, it is our hope that this measures put in place will yield results and bring back democracy to Niger and other African countries ruled by Military.
