My attention has been drawn to an unfounded report that is making waves in the media quoting me that I denied seeing any list of commissioner nominees from Gov. Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia to the 10th Assembly.
I have declared that the news written by one Jimin Geoffrey is false. I observed with bewilderment the efforts by some people to drag my hard earned image to the mud.
Let me be point blank here, on Monday 31st July, 2023, Mr. Benjamin Ngutsav of Agape Radio reached out to me in a phone conversation requesting information on what transpired in the last sitting of the Benue State House of Assembly. I told him I am not the committee chairman on information and so I am not in the position to speak for the House. But I engaged him as a member present in the plenary of that day. He specifically asked whether the letter the governor sent was accompanied by a list of commissioner nominees and if I had seen it but I told him that the letter was addressed to the speaker and I couldn’t have seen anything except what the Speaker read. The speaker chose to read only the letter and didn’t read out the names doesn’t mean there were no names.
I went ahead and sent him a phone number of the Chairman, Committee on Information for him to get the nitty gritty he was nosing for.
Today, I woke up and my name saturated the media with a verbatim quotation with authority “GOV ALIA DIDN’T SEND ANY COMMISSIONERS LIST TO US.” ~ Rt. Hon. Cephas Dyako
Campaigns have come and gone, it is time to make Benue work again and I am ever ready to support Gov Alia led administration and I will do anything possible to make the dream a reality.
I advise those who are out to disparage my image for their gains to desist from that act.
I urge the public to consider the information fake, image tarnishing which is proudly sponsored by the opposition to set me against the Gov. Alia led administration.
Rt. Hon. Cephas Dyako,
Member House of Assembly,
Representing Konshisha State Constituency.
2nd August, 2023.
